La Trattoria opened its doors in 1983, offering Houstonians a sampling of the freshest and finest northern Italian cuisine to be found. Since then Carlo and company have been recognized numerous times not only for their delectable dishes, but for their excellent wine list by the Houston Chronicle, ZAGAT, Wine Spectator, and many other publications.
Over the years La Trattoria has expanded its once petite dining room of 12 tables, to a larger space, boasting a rustic wine cellar, bar, outdoor patio, as well as a vinoteca (wine and cigar shop) that is used for special wine-tasting seminars and auctions.
La Trattoria means "the cafe" in Italian, but don't let the name fool you. Carlo's italian charisma combined with his culinary talents make this cafe an exceptional dining establishment, and one of the most talked about restaurants in town.
